Shares of Webull (BULL) rallied 13.8% during Wednesday’s pre-market session following the online brokerage’s strongest quarterly performance since its market debut. The stock climbed to $9.83 before regular trading hours, representing a significant gain from Tuesday’s closing price of $8.64.
Webull Corporation Class A Ordinary Shares, BULL
The digital broker reported second-quarter 2026 revenue of $198.8 million, substantially exceeding analyst expectations of $165.7 million. On the earnings front, adjusted EPS of $0.05 outperformed the Street’s $0.04 projection.
Revenue generated from trading activities emerged as the quarter’s highlight, jumping 66% from the same period last year to reach $147.7 million. Adjusted operating profit exploded 169% higher to achieve a company record of $62.6 million.
The operational efficiency demonstrated in these figures is remarkable. Revenue expansion significantly outpaced cost increases, creating meaningful margin expansion.
A significant catalyst for this growth stemmed from regulatory changes. The elimination of the Pattern Day Trader rule on June 4 removed the $25,000 minimum account balance threshold that had previously restricted many individual investors from frequent trading. This regulatory update unleashed substantial new trading activity across Webull’s platform.
The quarterly metrics reflected this shift dramatically. Equity trading volume totaled $279 billion during the three-month period. Options contract volume reached 213 million.
Total customer assets increased 79% year-over-year to $28.5 billion. The registered user base expanded 13% to 28.2 million.
Artificial Intelligence Platform Showing Strong Adoption
Webull’s artificial intelligence platform, known as Vega, attracted 480,000 active users throughout the quarter. Management has highlighted AI-powered expansion as a central component of its forward strategy.
Northland Securities analyst Michael Grondahl maintained his Buy recommendation while increasing his price target to $15 from the previous $14 level. His rationale centered on the impressive second-quarter performance, clear operational efficiency improvements, and the company’s artificial intelligence investments.
Despite Wednesday’s pre-market gains, BULL continues trading considerably below its 52-week peak of $16.04.
Cryptocurrency Surge Provided Additional Tailwind
Prior to the earnings announcement, BULL shares had already gained ground on Tuesday. Bitcoin and alternative cryptocurrencies advanced as declining Treasury yields enhanced investor appetite for higher-risk investments.
President Trump’s scheduled meeting with cryptocurrency industry leaders at the White House and anticipation of improved U.S. regulatory clarity for digital currencies further supported market optimism.
This development carries significance for Webull given its cryptocurrency trading offerings. Sharp increases in crypto valuations typically draw additional retail investors to the platform, driving higher transaction volumes and user engagement. BULL stock advanced 6.81% to $8.47 during Tuesday’s regular session ahead of the earnings release.
Wall Street consensus heading into the report called for adjusted EPS of $0.03 on revenue of $181.26 million. Webull exceeded both benchmarks with room to spare.
During the first quarter of 2026, Webull posted revenue growth of 36% year-over-year to $159.9 million, though total operating expenses surged 68% as the company intensified marketing efforts and absorbed elevated transaction costs associated with volume increases.
The second-quarter results demonstrate that expense growth has been overtaken by revenue acceleration, with adjusted operating profit establishing a new quarterly record.
